About Looking

One can never be completely satisfied by simply looking. Looking creates temptation, deep curiosity and a desire for more. The sensuality of the lighting in this photograph, the location and the woman’s passive position contribute to the viewer’s desire to touch or to at least wonder what it may feel to touch. The viewer and the woman are separated by the shadows of the blinds, which further increases the desire to want more than just a look.

Be GREEN!

What does store-bought toothpaste, disinfecting wipes, and hair conditioner all have in common?

Chances are that these three things share a label that says something along the lines of “Keep out of reach of children,” “Contact physican or Poison Control Centre immediately if ingested,” etc. How safe is it really to use these kinds of products on ourselves and in our homes?

Every single day we are using chemicals on our faces, in our homes, in the food we eat. I decided to come up with three alternative, simple, and even edible homemade products to replace the ones we buy in stores, which are often ridden with toxic substances. Healthier home = healthier you!

Here are vegan & gluten-free recipes & photographs that I took for the following: Disinfecting wipes, toothpaste, and a hair conditioner/mask. They require minimal ingredients and are almost too easy to make.

#1) Disinfecting Wipes

What you’ll need:

-Glass mason jar with lid

-3 oranges

-White vinegar

-Essential oils of your choice (Lavender, lemon, cinnamon stick…)

-Clean old t-shirt or pillowcase (to cut into wipes)

Directions:

Peel oranges and place in mason jar. You can place a few slices of the orange in the jar itself (and munch on the rest!).
